Welcome to the wonderful world of Windows 10. All the sages, like Windows Secrets (former Langa list), suggest to wait 6 month to make sure a lot of software drivers have caught up to 10. (When XP came out the compatibility checker nixed 60% of my hardware and software on my W98 machine. By the time SP3 came out 100% was approved and I switched.).
Many Windows 10 users have reported that after updating their computer to Windows 10, their TomTom devices are no longer working properly. Like most Windows operating systems, Windows 10 needs drivers that have been designed and developed specifically for it.
After upgrading to Windows 10, some users report that their computer fails to detect their TomTom printer, or that their TomTom printer is not working. Some have reported issues with their TomTom video card, graphics card and network connectivity. Others have seen generic messages such as Windows 10 cannot load the drivers or they are experiencing problems connecting to WiFi or the internet.
The problem is that all connected devices, including TomTom devices, need updated drivers to work properly under Windows 10. If you have recently updated to Windows 10, or your new Windows 10 computer, laptop or notebook fails to recognize your old devices, you also need to update all TomTom drivers in order to fix these problems on Windows 10 which relate to your TomTom hardware.

If your computer doesn't detect your navigation device while it is connected, we advise you to check if the USB cable is connected properly.
- You should plug the USB cable directly into a USB port on the computer and not into a USB hub or USB port on a keyboard or monitor.
- Use only the USB cable supplied with the device. Other USB cables may not work.
- Some devices come with a car mount that can also be used to charge the device using the computer.
Note: You cannot use the car mount when installing updates on your navigation device, because the car mount will not be recognised by the computer. You must connect the USB cable directly to the device.
Important: Make sure you have the latest version of MyDrive Connect installed on your computer.
Didn't solve the issue?
If the device is still not recognised, the software, or driver, required to detect the device may not be installed correctly.
By default, the computer will automatically download and install the driver when the navigation device is connected. However, this feature may have been disabled by a computer setting or by your company’s security policy.
